The library is open from 8:15 AM - 3:45 PM.
No open food or drinks are allowed in the library. Water bottles are allowed.
Books check out for six weeks. No late fees are charged, but all library books are due back by the end of each semester. Students only owe money if library books are lost or damaged.
Printing is available by emailing the needed items to Mrs. Briano or by sharing them with her on Google Drive.
Chromebook help can be found in the library. Office hours are 8:15-8:45 AM and 3:15-3:45 PM as well as during PAWS with Mr. Wells.

Emily Briano
School Librarian
Emily Briano has served as the School Librarian at Powell High School since 2023. A 2002 graduate of Morristown-East High School, her secondary academic journey began at Carson-Newman University, where she earned two Bachelor of Arts with Honors degrees in Philosophy and Applied Psychology in 2006. Equipped with a strong basis in the liberal arts, Emily obtained a Master of Science in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2008.
Mrs. Briano was the School Librarian at Carter High School from 2008-2022, where she helped coach Scholars' Bowl, sponsored Book Club, and was the AP Coordinator for 14 years. Her career took an unexpected turn as she served as a temporary Library Media Services Facilitator working with KCS's Special Day Schools and its freestanding PreK schools. A voracious reader, Mrs. Briano regularly reads over three hundred books a year across a variety of topics and genres.
